Good Morning, Loyal Subjects!

I was just planning to do some work on the site, but something really, REALLY
funny happened this morning that had me
laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes!
I was making the bed around 3 romping Royals, when Brutus noticed the dressing mirror I have attached to the wall, across from the bed. It's about 4 feet away from the edge of the bed, and I guess Brutus noticed the OTHER cat - his reflection, in the mirror! Now, as he's been growing SO quickly, his jumping skills would be the envy of any Olympic athlete. (Oh, that gave me a thought: I should DISCUSS the next CatOlympics with him!) Quick as a shot, he made a flying leap towards the mirror, a perfect Long Jump...RIGHT INTO THE WALL!!! It was like a Road Runner cartoon, when Wyle E. Cayote hits a canyon wall and slowly slides down! He looked so embarrassed! It was precious! A tale (tail?) I heard once, is that one should never laugh at a cat, because they CAN get embarrassed and maybe need therapy, I don't know... I know only that I thank God every moment of the day for those two young ones, and for my precious, Emily! I think about the fact that if it were not for Our most compassionate Deb Taylor, those two ginger FuZZes would not be bringing me such joy! Rescuers DO have a special place in Heaven waiting for them!

THE RESCUE RAINBOW BRIDGEAuthor Unknown

Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and ray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals that had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was going on and started to gather at the pathway leading to The Bridge to watch. It wasn't long before an elderly cat came into view, head hung low and tail dragging. The other animals, the ones who had been there for a while, knew what his story was right away, for they had seen this happen far too often. He approached slowly, obviously in great emotional pain, but with no sign of injury or illness. Unlike all of the other animals waiting at The Bridge, this animal had not been restored to youth and made healthy and vigorous again. As he walked toward The Bridge, he watched all of the other animals watching him.
He knew he was out of place here and the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be. But, alas, as he approached The Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of an Angel who apologized, but told him that he would not be able to pass. Only those who were with their people could pass over Rainbow Bridge.

With no place else to turn to, the elderly cat turned towards the fields before The Bridge and saw a group of other cats like him, also elderly and infirm. They weren't playing, but rather simply lying on the green grass, forlornly staring out at the pathway leading to The Bridge. And so, he took his place among them, watching the pathway and waiting.
One of the newest arrivals at The Bridge didn't understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the animals that had been there for awhile to explain it to him. You see, that poor animal was a rescue. He was turned in to res! cue just as you see him now, an older cat with his fur graying and his eyes clouding. He never made it out of rescue and passed on with only the love of his rescuer to comfort him as he left his earthly existence. Because he had no family to give his love to, he has no one to escort him across The Bridge. The first cat thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?"

As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the gloom lifted. Approaching The Bridge could be seen a single person and among the older animals, a whole group was suddenly bathed in a golden lig! ht and they were all young and healthy again, just as they were in the prime of life."Watch, and see" said the second feline. A second group of animals from those waiting came to the pathway and bowed low as the person neared. At each bowed head, the person offered a pat on the head or! a scratch behind the ears. The newly restored animals fell into line and followed him towards The Bridge.
They all crossed The Bridge together. "What happened?" "That was a rescuer." The animals you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of his work. They will cross when their new families arrive. Those you saw restored were those who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are allowed to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort all those poor animals that they couldn't place on earth, across The Rainbow Bridge."I think I like rescuers", said the first animal.

Have a Blessed Day, Everyone and their special FuZZes!

"...I give this post two thumbs up! I laughed, I cried...!" Rose, you always know how to tell a story. Yes, I know you copied the retelling of this next adaptaion of what further happens at the RB, it's such a wonderful story. It really does describe people like Deb and BariD!

Brutus' antics keep me in stitches! I can just picture him flying through the air with the greatest of ease, splat! LMAO!!!

How's your day going?

Hi Kim!

My day's going okay so far...got a bit more sleep, although the Young Royals kept me awake until around 1:00 am wrestling right next to me in bed! I thought they'd never stop! I guess I nodded off when they ran out of steam. They fell asleep right where they were, and it was all warm fuzzies when I woke up with two sleeping kitties in the nook they found under my arm!
Oh, Brutus is a jumping fool! But this morning was just a once in a lifetime happening! Actually, I hope not! I have to order his neuter voucher today or tomorrow - SOON! He's growing SO fast, as I told Deb on the phone, I don't want him looking at Marigold in a few weeks from now and start thinking of the "deueling banjos" song from Deliverance!! Hey, think I can find a chastity belt for Marigold on Bourbon Street?!

Thank you for all the compliments on my writing style! Writing had been a passion of mine since I was in grade school! There's an on-line writer's workshop out of NYC, the courses are really reasonable $$, and I'd like to take a few...I thought I was eligible for a Tenant's rebate from the state; being disabled, I would have been eligible for a check in August from $150.00 to $875.00! BUT!!! I needed to be a tenant from OCTOBER 1, 2005. I was supposed to be, but we caught a few snage with the state's voucher process, and I didn't get into here until November 1st...oh well, next summer! That will help handsomely with travel arrangemets for June 2008!

I'll be chattingwith you around the sites! Check ya out later!
Thnks for visiting!

Rose, you do know how to tell a story. Loved hearing about Brutus' jumping antics. Could picture him in my mind as you described it.

And loved the Rescuer at the Rainbow Bridge story. I too laughed and cried and felt comforted as I read it.

Thank you so much for opening your home (and life and heart) to these two tiny kittens that Deb worked so hard to rescue.

Hey Rose, just got the pics from Snapfish. I love pciture #19. They look like Yin and Yang!

In defense of Brutus, I would like to say that a cat does not run into a wall that he does not wish to run into. It was all purposeful and to what purpose it served is for Brutus alone to know.

Oh, oh. Mom's eyes are leakin again. An not fur Price Brutus' amazin splat. I don mind when Mom laffs at me, but Bonnie gets in-dig-nant. Hide the earing was fun! Mom didn't efun no it was gone until Dad stepped on it barefoot. He was so funny, I laffed at him.

Victor Tabbycat said...

Oh, I don't settle down at nite until Mom acyouly turns off the lite. If she keeps a lite on, I just keep goin an goin an get in lotsa trouble cuz that's when I'm most tempted to jump on the counters an try to get into the cat food bag.

Hi Rose, loved your story about Brutus. I also could visualize the whole thing. All he wanted to do was go see that other kitty on the other side of the room. Loved the picture of Emily and one of the royals playing on the floor. Really cute. Casper says hi to all the Royals.

caspersmom said...

Excuse me. Cleo, Gizmo and Patches wanted to say hi too. Sorry kitties.
