We are sending tons of purrs for Brutus in hopes that he gets better quickly. Nothing worse than allergies. One of our doggies has that too. Take care and have a great week end.
I'm so grateful to you all for keeping My Brutus in your purrayers and healing thoughts. o far today he's had 4 "spells", but he begs for Temptations like there's no tomorrow - he's such a flirt! (I shouldn't tease him, since we're out of "tempts", but I enjoy the attention!) I've always wanted to get an Air filter/Ionizer, because he does begin to have symptoms once pollen season starts. When he "coughs", his nose runs! So I'm not sure of a vaporizer. Advise me please if that would help as well. A Confession from me: We've been in this apartment going on 2 years, and I know there's an accumultion of dander-filled dust. So the suggestion of trying the air filter is 2nd on my list - after getting our V-E-T out to see him (I have no car).
My touching moment of the day today (Saturday) was when I fell asleep with my laptop In my lap! I'm not sure how long I napped, but when I awoke, My Brutus was snuggled against me, with his head in my lap! I once read that what bothers some unenlightened people is that cats seem aloof and not cuddly. The truth is, cats exercise their right to choose, and having a cat sit or lay near you, it's because he or she WANTS TO! I'll keep y'all posted on "Big Red" (Our V-E-T said his coat is a shade of orange that is referred to as "red"...who knew!) Thanks soooo much for your loving , healing energy for My Brutus! Rose
We are definitely purring and praying for Brutus. It's such a helpless feeling when a precious pet or tiny child is sick ... they can't tell us what's wrong, so we have to be ever-alert detectives.
We's all sending big Brutus lots of purrs and purrayers. Call that vet and set up an appointment for her to come out (the Royals do not have a car) and give all the Royals a checkup. I's putting a ChipIn up later so effurryone that wants to help can. And I's maked a purrs badge, it's on the Cat Blogosphere. Love & Purrs, KC & Fambly
Sounds like an air cleaner would do the most good. Steam usually helps more if the problem is chest conjestion or crud in the lungs..
If you have a Staples, Lowes, or something similar close by, they usually have various size air cleaners should help filter out some of the dust and pollen. The only problem we've encountered is that some of them are very noisey, to the point of making it hard to talk or watch TV.
If you have a central AC, upgrading the air filter might help, too. Those cheap blue fiberglass ones don't catch anything much smaller than a rock. :-)
PS: If you have a small(ish) bathroom, you could take Brutus in there, close the door, and turn on the hot water in the bathtub. That should steam up the room pretty quick, and you could see if steam helped him or not.
We are still purring and praying, sweet Brutus and we will send a small donation for your vet bill...Best of luck=we're keeping our paws crossed for you, precious friend...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
