Good Friday to you all!

How We do miss you when life seems to take away the minutes which would allow us to visit more often with Our Most Loyal Subjects. (Shhh...this is Marigold...Queen Mum just had a Puurthday, and we always hear her mumblin' sumthin' 'bout "the old gray matter ain't what it usta be". We think she has what Beans call "Senior Moments"...but Queen Mum feels like a kid, and acts like one a lot of the time, so she SHOULD have 'nuff time to go to school, feed us stinky goodness, clean our litterbox, practice schoolwork on the 'puter, clean the House an' all that other Bean Stuff AND STILL let ya'll know how We Royals are doin', right?! Ohh! Here she comes, gotta dash!) Now where was I?
Oh yes, I wanted to thank you all for the birthday wishes, We had a most pleasant day! A schoolmate of mine treated me to Luncheon, and We received warmest greetings from Our friends, The Zoo, pacoandfriends, KC, Missy, Bear and ML, grr, midnight and cocoa and their Lady, Danielle and Jake, Rosie, Princess Fuzzaduzz, and Mr. Hendrix sang us the most lovely rendition of Happy Puurthday I have ever heard! Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb sent All the Royals a box of treats, and We recieved a beautiful Rose Quartz ring designed by Robyn of Crystals and Jewelry that was Commissioned by Godmother Deb as well! Yes, this was a very happy birthday, indeed!
We would also like to thank all of Our friends who have been purraying for us, because Our Lord and Creator has been listening very closely! Tomorrow, The Royals Uncle Davy will be escorting the Queen Mum to New York to pick up a car which was donated to her through a Blessed Organization called "1-800-Charity Cars". It is a green 1999 Saturn SL2!
Tomorrow will be exciting for Us Royals, as HM Queen Emily will see Uncle Davy for the first time in 5 months, and finally Their Royal Highnesses Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold will have the opportunity to meet the Uncle they have heard so much about! Queen Mum will have to show Our albums of photos since We arrived on June 24th, so We expect him to visit for quite a while...
We would like to thank you for visiting us, and Queen Mum mentioned a plan for a video...featuring Prince Brutus...when he's ready for his close-up...
Have a Blessed Weekend!

Good Monday Morning to All!

We apologise for not posting on Sunday as promised. No excuses...Queen Mum was distracted AGAIN...(We really must summon The Royal Physician to have a look at her!)

In Any Event, We have been experiencing true Technical Difficulties with Both Blogger and You Tube, where we downloaded the video(s). One video is loaded and ready to be viewed, the second, well, it reads "Image Coming". It's READ "Image Coming" since Friday. We tried to upload the video this morning, so we shall see. Perhaps both Blogger and You Tube are taking a long Columbus Holiday as well. We hear good bargains can be had at the Markets today. We wouldn't know of such things, since We never carry money, and we have staff for the more mundane things in life like shopping.

A bit about today's photos. HRH Princess Marigold was quite upset about the NY Yankees humiliating loss to the Detroit Tigers, it was near impossible to keep her still! Se WAS consoled by the fact that Her Most Favoured Shot Stop, Sir Derek Jeter was 5 for 5, but was looking forward to a "Subway Series" between the "Yanks" (Her term, not Ours...We refrain from Profiling in as much as is possible) and the NY Mets. Perhaps Next Year, Dear Marigold. For consolation, We must search for a Jeter Jersey for her.

HRH Prince Brutus is betwixt looking like a Kitten and a Cat at this point in his life. When playing or Insisting that Stinky Goodness be served FORTHWITH, the Kitten returns. HM Queen Emily finds this causes her to have headache. She went to hide beneath her bed last night, after Stinky Goodness Evening Banquet.

We do hope you have a lovely day!
Thank you for visiting!

Here are the linkys to the videos...if you do not see anything but a "Coming Soon" notice, please do tell, as we will have to send Queen Mum to put the bitey on them!! She SO enjoys doing her own battles on days like today!

Hello to all Our Beloved Subjects!!

Here are Our Lovely Young Royals, HRH Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold a week following their LadyGarden/Hoo-Ha-ectomies, and they are in tip-top shape! We would like to thank you all for keeping Us in your purrayers, as we did feel the energies of Our Creator At Work to guide the V-E-T's hand and guide The Young Royals through a swift and "unremarkable " recovery!

HM Queen Emily was most distressed at the Queen Mother for removing the Young Royals from the House of Myres. When Queen Mum returned without them the first eve, Queen Emily looked disdainfully upon QM, turned tail and walked out of the room. When Queen Mum returned with The Young Royals next morning, a great purr of relief was heard as Queen Emily ignored the smells of "The V-E-T Hospital" upon them, and stayed close by them whilst they slept.

This morning, having forgotten to close the windows against the chilly night air, Queen Mum found that Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold discovered a "cozy" solution to the problem. We attempted to post the short videw QM took of this clever solution, but Blogger gave Us difficulties posting it...We Were Not Amused. However, there is a link to this video on You Tube by clicking on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z34hr-8fww

We hope you had a good week, and enjoy a restful weekend! Thank you all for visiting!!

Have a Blessed Weekend!!!!!!

Good Mornng Our Dearest Subjects!

Well, Queen Mother is in an anxious mood today. Truth be known, since 11:30 p.m. last night when She was instructed to withhold food and water from Their Royal Highnesses, Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold. HM Queen Emily, apart from being hungry and thirsty herself, seems to be empathising with The Young Royals as she, too, once Bravely and with Great Fortitude faced her own Trial-by- V-E-T. As of this moment, all three of the Royals are playing furiously as per their usual frantic morning exercise ritual. At 9:30 a.m. this morning, QM will summon the Royal License Taxi to transport the Young Royals to the V-E-T, and will very reluctantly leave them in their care. Providence has them in His Care, of course. Queen Emily, We anticipate will search the Royal House of Myres endlessly until their safe return tomorrow.

In the mean time, We would like to leave you with a poem sent to the Royal Household by Our Most Beloved Lady ML, who is Princess Marigold's inspiration, and is adored by all the Royals.

We will post tomorrow to announce the Good News of the safe return of Prince Brutus from his Hoo-Ha-Ectomy, and of Princess Marigold from her Lady-Garden-Ectomy. In the mean time, a little prayer sent up in Their behalf as they overnight in the Recovery Kennels with their favourite blankie, given them while mere kits by Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb will hopefully lull them into a peaceful slumber overnight. To All Our Favoured Subjects, have a Blessed Day!

Do Not Go Peaceable to That Damn Vet
by Dylan Thomas's Cat

Do not go peaceable to that damn vet,
A cat can always tell a trip is due,
Hide, hide, when your appointment time is set.

Wise cats who watched, and learned the alphabet,
And never let men know how much they knew,
Do not go peaceable to that damn vet.

Young cats who want to keep their claws to whet
On sofa legs, and save their privates, too,
Hide, hide when your appointment time is set.

Sick cats, poor things, whose stomachs are upset,
But hate to eat some vile-smelling goo,
Do not go peaceable to that damn vet.

Old cats who have no wish to sleep just yet,
And plan to live another year or two,
Hide, hide when your appointment time is set.

And though your human sweetly calls his pet,
Or rants and raves until his face is blue,
Do not go peaceable to that damn vet,
Hide, hide when your appointment time is set.

MY HOW THEY'VE GROWN!!! Good Sunday Morning!

We were made aware just last week that HRH Prince Brutus has grown so big in just the past 10 weeks, that poor Princess Marigold oftentimes gets "shoved out of the way" as the Prince stretches in his sleep! Princess Marigold seems to be remaining a kitten of petite stature. She is so closely bonded with the Prince that she never registers a complaint when she finds shared quarters tight now that the Prince has hit his "growth spurt". Queen Mum is anxiously awaiting September 14th, as she prays the spurt that Prince Brutus is undergoing remain one of growth, and nothing else. One shudders to think...

On our last post, Skeeeeezix the Cat offered an opinion on The Queen Mum's Pet Peeve at the moment, that of the Demotion of Planet Pluto. Mentioning The Food Lady being a Scorpio, this is what concerns QM as well, since Queen Mum is also a Scorpio. It seems such misfortunes have befallen The Royal House of Myres since this dastardly deed was done! We Are Not Amused. We have consulted with the Royal Astrologists on this matter, and expect a favourable outcome to this situation. That is, if they know what is good for them... This is all We have to say on the topic at this time.

We do hope that all of our Loyal Subjects are safe after the passing of the Tropical Depression along the East Coast of the Realm. Things were quite dramatic here, but all is well.

We hope you enjoy this long Holiday week-end! Rest well, and thank you for visiting!

Have a Blessed Day!

Good Morning, Friends!

We have been having a steady amount of rain since this Saturday past, and visitors to the Court, such as the young fellow spending some time at Our Gates with HRH Queen Emily have not had opportunity to visit Us. He seems a nice enough chap, as We have seen him near Our Terrace before, but he did forget protocol, and proceded, as We understand Young Puurson's present vernacular, to "chill '' with the Queen. Ever the polite Monarch, Queen Emily joined the young visitor in a similar posture, so as not to embarrass Her Most Loyal Subject. They chatted pleasantly for a bit, at which time, Our Young Subject excused himself and, bowing to the Queen, made his way elsewhere. The Queen finds all manner of God's Species quite entertaining!

The Queen Mum was quite upset over the matter of the Veterinarian's office policy where the Young Royals had gone to last Thursday for their injections. They are now required to forward the Young Royal's medical record to the Queen Mum, as she Was Not Amused by the conduct of the office staff. Well, these records have yet to arrive. In the meantime, an appointment was made at Our New Veterinarian's offices for this coming Thursday, August 31st for The Procedures each of the Young Royals must undergo. It is their duty to represent Responsible
Behaviours within Royal as we as Non-Royal Households regarding the health, safety and well-being of Young Ones of both species. HRH Prince Brutus is due to have his Hoo-Ha-ectomy, and HRH Princess Marigold, her Ladigardenectomy. What was not made clear to Us, was that the pre-procedure exam could be made on the same day as the procedures. When Queen Mum called to confirm the appointment and pre-operative preparations (she remembered the pre-operative ritual from when The Queen bravely went in for her ladigardenectomy 2 years back, but wanted to verify all was the same), the young lady informed Us that the actual procedures were not scheduled, but this time, QM recieved a POSITIVE date of Thursday, September 14th.
They will have their food and water removed at 12am midnight, and be taken to hospital by 10am Thursday morning, and have their procedures during Surgery Hours Midday. QM was informed that Prince Brutus would be able to return home that evening, but the Doctor recommended the Princess stay overnight. Queen Mum was stunned by the prospect of the two Young Royals being separated even for one night, as they have never, from birth, been separated. The kindly young woman must have sensed this, and quickly offered, "Oh, the Prince may stay with the Princess overnight, and they both may return home Friday morning!"
At that kindness, QM was able to exhale and thank the young woman for her kindness. QM plans to have their favourite blankie tucked into the recovery chambers for the two Young Royals as they overnight in Hospital.
The Queen Mother will be most pleased when this responsibility and duty of the Family is finally n the past. For some bewildering reason, it seems the simplest communications and efforts have been presenting quite upsetting news and needing looking after these past 2 weeks. QM has a theory...would you like to share in it? She feels that the humble Planet Pluto is quite irate at the demotion by those who have been reared to regard him as a planet due the respect that all planets are due. They, in fact, stole Pluto's dignity, and it must saddle him with great sadness and loss to think schoolchildren everywhere will think him less than the planet, an Honour to which he has become accustomed. We here, at the Royal House of Myres are quite distressed, as Pluto was the Queen Mum's favourite of all planets. What say you all?

Whilst it seems the Blogger has not a case of indigestion at the moment, we will attempt to post while we have the opportunity! Queen Mum has plenty of return visits to pay today and tomorrow.

We do ask that you please keep Luna in your puuayers, as of last word, she still is lost in that frightful forest. Also, please join the memorial to Trixie Meezer, a most Noble Lady who crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge Tuesday Morning. If you would be so kind, please consult Our Friend's site, www.Kat'sCatoftheDay.blogspot.com for information regarding a Memorial Service in Trixie's Honour.

Thank you all for visting, as always! Have a blessed day!

Good Day to Everyone!

We had already attempted to post this morning, but it seems Blogger has misplaced Our efforts.

C'est la vie...

Today We would like to respond to Sir Pounce, of the House of Katnippia, who "tagged" HRH Princess Marigold to reveal five puuursonal facts about herself. The Princess had a bit of difficulty choosing only 5, but with the Queen Mother's help, We believe we have five facts that may entertain you all!

Fact #1.

Princess Marigold has quite the refind palate, and especially likes salmon, as prepared by Queen Mum. She and Her brother, HRH Prince Brutus will come to inspect Queen Mum's plate, and being quite amused by their curiosity, QM will carefully take bits of the salmon, cool them, and offer each about 4 bits. We are about to share a confidence with you, as what We are about to reveal may be misinterpreted as unseemly behaviour for a Young Princess. The Princess has a very healthy appetite, and will finish her portion, and go over to her brother's portion and finish his off, as well!

Fact #2.

In keeping with the first fact revealed, Princess Marigold enjoys serving as sous chef to the QM when She is preparing meals, on Cook's half-day off. The Princess will climb the Queen Mum's robes until she can perch on Her shoulder, and will offer advice as to seasoning, side dishes, wine selections and the like. This is a trait that must have been learned in Her time with Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb, who is quite the Gourmet Cook! In her youth, the Princess must have enjoyed the aromas from Godmother Deb's kitchen!

Fact #3.

It is well known amongst the Household that the Princess has developed a fine technique of Classic Greco-Roman wrestling! This she learned from Her brother, as He bonded with the Princess from birth, and would play-wrestle with her. Being a petite 4 pounds, she often will "take down" the Prince, who weighs in at 5.7 pounds! At times, the Queen Mum will offer the Princess an unfair advantage by holding the Prince down, but that is rare, only when QM has had a nip too many of Fine Port wine...

Fact #4.

Princess Marigold has a favourite toy amonst the many Our Godmother Deb has made gifts of, and it is one she has had from her very early days; a shiny green mouse which rattles when it is tossed. She also will play happily with the plastic ring that comes from a container of milk. After a time, Queen Mum will toss it into the rubbish bin, to prevent any possibility of ingestion. The Princess will sniff about for it a bit, then move on to an authentic toy, one safe to play with.

Fact #5.

The Princess conducts Herself in a true Royal fashion whilst out in public. Last week, she had occasion to visit the Veterinarian for her shots, and was SO brave, she continued to purr, even whilst the injections were being administered. We were Most Pleased!

In general, Princess Marigold is growing into quite the lovely Royal of Refined Manners and Sensibilities. HM Queen Emily sees to her education to insure a Lovely Adult Princess.

We thank you for visiting with Us today and hope you have a Pleasant week ahead!

Okay.

What am I supposed to do? I have had a Horrendous Week, and it's going into another weekend of more of the same, so, you all tell me...what do I do? Do I give up on MY OWN BLOG, TOO?! I thought THIS SITE was MY PLAYGROUND, and a place where some people may like to take a passing glance at my cat and kittens.
Especially since I really only reincarnated this blog to help give myself another way of watching my kittens grow. I am emotionally drained right now, and can't decide a thing.

So tell me, what should I do?

Before and Current photos of HRH Prince Brutus. The 1st picture was taken on June 24, 2006, about an hour after his arrival from Our Most Favoured Godmother Deb's home in Houston, Tx.

The second photo was taken within the last 2 weeks. He seems to look a bit like a furry Eggplant, growing there, doesn't he?!

We hope everyone is well and having a good week so far. Princess Marigold needs to respond to being "tagged" by Katnippia. We expect to complete that challenge tomorrow. Until then, have a good day.

Good Sunday Morning, Everyone!

We have been side-stepping Our responsibility, and for that We do apologise. It has been awhile now since Sir Pounce, of the House of Katnippia, "tagged" HRH Princess Marigold to reveal five puursonal facts about Herself. Well, to be truthful, She has had a difficult time deciding on which facts to share with Our Faithful Subjects, as she has so many endearing traits. She believes now, with Queen Mum's assistance, she has a suitable list, done in good fun and sport to share.

Fact #1.

Her Highness delights in escaping from her collar, much to the dismay of Queen Mum. But she has yet to find a place to hide it where QM cannot find it!

Fact #2.

Princess Marigold, weighing a mere four pounds, is quite an accomplished wrestler! She has her brother, HRH Prince Brutus to thank for that. This does leave the Prince in a pickle now, as Her Highness often uses fine Greco-Roman maneuvers to "take down" her 5.7oz brother.

Fact #3.

Her Highness is fast becoming quite the gourmet sous chef! She will climb up to Queen Mum's shoulder to assist in spices and herb selection, and is quite willing to taste the food as it is being prepared. The Princess has quite the refind palate!

Fact #4.

HRH Queen Emily has taken the Princess underer wing, so to speak, and Princess Marigold is a quick study. She is an example of refinement, contrasting with The Prince, who is quite typical of a Young Royal; fortunately, We have been able to keep some of his, shall we say, rowdy behaviours out of those dreadful newspapers. We hope in time Princess Marigold will show her brother by example how a Royal must conduct themselves. We are most pleased with HRH Princess Marigold!

Fact #5.

The Princess does have a very hearty appetite, especially for salmon prepared by The Queen Mum. QM is quite amused by the Young Royals "demands" to have a taste, and so will carefully cool several bits for each of them. This must also stay out of the papers, if you would be so kind, as it could be misinterpreted as gluttony instead of the Princess' refind palate appreciating a well cooked piece of salmon; she will eat her portion with gusto, then take the Prince's bits as well!

Princess Marigold, on the whole, is a delight to be with, and We are most pleased and amused by her youthful vigor and antics!

Thank you all for visiting! Have a pleasant week!

Good Sunday Morning, Our Loyal Subjects!

Today, it is HRH Prince Brutus' turn to participate in the "Five Things About You" game that You have all been participating in. Prince Brutus was "tagged" by Sir Junior Man of the Royal House of Iceland. He is most pleased to have been selected to play this game, as HM Queen Emily did so enjoy her turn!

So here are the Five habits/things that Prince Brutus indulges in.

1.) The Prince loves to "help" Queen Mum make the Royal Bed up in the mornings, however, he tends to make more lumps than he smoothes out.

2.) Royal Decorum aside, The Prince makes himself the fool when shown what he refers to as a "fev-ver" toy. Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb, SWMBO, had sent several feather toys for the Royals, and they are the Prince's favorite. Next only to whatever HRH Princess Marigold is playing with at the time.

3.) The Prince has copied Queen Emily's lead and is now a faucet drinker. Sometimes, being as rude about it as pushing Her Majesty aside for his turn!

4.) Water holds great attraction for the Prince, actually. The 4th silliest thing he does is hop into the shower as Queen Mum is finishing up. Once the faucet stops, he likes to assist Queen Mum dry off by licking her ankles. Queen Mum allows this, as she believes it must be good for her circulation. However, a few days ago, the shower drain backed up, and the water rose to above-ankle height. Not realizing this, Prince Brutus jumped in as usual, and found himself tummy-deep in soapy water. This time, Queen Mum had to dry the Prince off.

5.) Lastly, Prince Brutus has honed his skills as a Ladies' Cat to the highest order. One must admit, the Prince does have a good eye for the female form! When Queen Mum has Tea with a Ladyfriend, the Prince wastes no time in making her acqaintence. If he favours one especially, he will leave a token of his affection in her handbag. The Lady in question is always suprised when reaching into her bag to find one of the Prince's favourite toys.

Well, there it is then! Prince Brutus would like to thank Sir Junior Man of the Royal House of Iceland for the challenge!

And now, The Prince wishes to "tag" his first Love, Sanjee, of The House of (Mostly) Black Cats. Simply in the spirit of good sport, of course...

Thanks to all for visiting Us this Sunday. Have a Blessed Day!

Hello, Our Loyal Subjects!

We apologise for not fulfilling Our Royal Duties by publishing on a regular basis. We are working to rectify this matter, and ask your indulgences as we do so. Thank you all!

Well, several days ago, HM Queen Emily was "tagged" by Missy of the Sherwood Household to participate in a game which involves HM the Queen to openly confide 5 things about Herself. Without further ado, here are 5 things about HM Queen Emily.

1. She has a secret wanderlust, which has Queen Mum guarding the door to prevent her eloping outdoors unawares of the Family.

2. She does not favour treats, until today! We received our parcel from Robyn at the House of the (Mostly) Black Cats, in which our adoptive 'ramic kitty Daisy arrived! Mom Robyn made sure Daisy brought some stinky goodness with her, as well as a catnip toy, which the Queen favors greatly, but the treats Daisy bought with her! They are called "Whiskas Temptations". Queen Mum never saw Queen Emily enjoy ANY treat before these! We are most indebted to Daisy for bringing them along!

3. The Queen enjoys human companionship, but on her own terms. She will snuggle at bedtime with Queen Mum, asking for a massage and scratches, then, when she has had enough, she abruptly ends the session with a quick bite and a turn of her tail.

4. Queen Emily's most favoured pasttime is cuddling with the Organic Catnip bag that Our Most Favoured ML Sherwood sent to Us. The Young Royals are, alas, too young for the pleasures of catnip as yet. Queen Mum says "give them a few months!"

5. HM the Queen does NOT like table scraps WITH THE EXCEPTION OF- Liver! Beef, Veal, Chicken, no matter. She can smell the wonderful odours of Liver as Cook is preparing it, and can down a hefty portion off of Queen Mum's dinnerplate!

Well, there you have it. Five things about HM the Queen. Now, it is Queen Emily's turn to tag someone, and she chooses to tag her Cousin, Viscount Seaborne of the Taylor Cat House-hold.

This was most enjoyable!

Please do visit Daisy's Mom Robyn at her lovely site http://CrystalsAndJewelry.com and peruse the exquisite selection of jewelry! We have promised ourselves to make http://CrystalsandJewelry.com Our first stop on Our Christmas shopping trip!

Wishing you all a splended day!

Happy Days, Our Most Loyal Subjects!!

What a GLORIOUS SUPRISE We had last evening! The doorbell rang at about 6:00 p.m., and as Queen Mum allowed Jeeves the evening off, she answered the door personally. Our Kind Gentleman wearing Brown Shorts was at the door with a LARGE Parcel addressed to Us! Once Queen Mum carried it in, HM Queen Emily immediately began an examination of the large box, as she was anxious to play in it once it was empty. It's size was enticing to her, and she approved of it immediately. However, Our Dear Subjects, the box was only the FIRST toy! Once Queen Mum opened it, both HRH Prince Brutus and Queen Emily began to examine the interior of the box. It wasn't empty and ready to play in, as We first thought. There was this very intriquing contraption inside, pact very snugly, and and Queen Mum began to remove it, piece by piece, allowing us to inspect each piece for approval before assembling it. ( We have a faint idea where QM obtained her "carpentry" skills, but were told it was an old Family rumor; that there was not a grain of truth about the foreman of the Royal Carriage House decades ago. ) Once put together, We realized it was a Play House!Queen Mum then told us it was yet ANOTHER gift sent by Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb, She Who Must Be Obeyed! It fit PERFECTLY into Our Playcorner, where Queen Mum kept one of Our beds, filled with all the toys, also given to us by Godmother Deb! We so long to see Godmother Deb again, as we owe her HOURS of kisses, noserubs and hugs for her neverending kindnesses to us! Queen Mum is sorting out a plan to put together another 'nip bag to hang on one of the three-level upper stories of the play house.

This morning, Queen Mum awoke at 6:30 a.m. a full hour later than she had become accustomed to, as the Young Royals regularly climbed into bed with her at 5:30 a.m. for morning games. Concerned, Queen Mum came into the Great Room, only to find all three of us, Queen Emily, Princess Marigold and Prince Brutus resting on various levels of the Royal Play House! Of course, you do know what came next?! Yes, the Silver Flash Box !! (Our Most Gracious Godmother's gift to Queen Mum a few weeks ago!)

We consider ourselves Most Blessed by Our Creator to have, as a Member of Our Royal Family, a Most Gracious, Most Dear to Our Hearts, Godmother Deb!

Well, as we retire to our rejuvinating midafternoon nap, we just wanted to inform You that the Royals, HM Queen Emily, HRH Princess Marigold and Prince Brutus have all been "tagged" in this fascinating game Our Cousins have been playing, so over the week-end, We will be participating in this game and anticipate a great amount of sport and fun!

Thank You All for visiting us today! Have a Lovely Weekend!

Good Day, Our Loyal Subjects!

Today, We have been made aware of a campaign to honour those who perished in the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001.

We at Rose and the Royals are honoring the memory of Jeffrey Coombs, age 42, who was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11. He was a resident of Abington, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife, Christie, and their three children, Matt, Meagan and Julia. Jeffrey was a security analyst for Compaq Computers. He boarded AA flight 11 in Boston's Logan Airport, en route to Los Angeles, CA, along with a flight crew of 11, 75 "regular" passengers, and 5 hijackers, led by Mohammad Attah. The flight was delayed in taking off from Logan, but finally recieved clearance for takeoff at 7:59 a.m. The plane is believed to have been hijacked at 8:14 a.m. Two F-15 fighter jets were scrambled from Otis AFB in Massachusetts, intended to intercept flight 11. But because Attah had switched off the transponders, the USAF pilots had no idea which direction to fly to meet the plane.

At 8:46 a.m., flight 11 crashed at roughly 490 mph into the north side of the north tower of the World Trade Center, between floors 93 and 99. It is believed the aircraft entered the tower mostly intact. People below the impact area start to evacuate; however, no one above the impact zone is able to do so.

Today is August 10th, 2006. In 32 days, we mark the 5th anniversary of this horrendous event. It is the 5th anniversary of when simple, everyday freedoms of all Americans began to be curtailed.

It is also the 5th annieversary that Christine became a widow, and when Matt, Meagan and Julia lost their father. Please join Us in prayer for Jeffrey Coombs and his family, as they approach another anniversary of a day that changed their lives as they had known it as Americans. We all thought this sort of thing was not supposed to happen here.

We were wrong.

Good Morning, Our Most Loyal Subjects!

We hope you had a restful, relaxing week-end, as We had. HM Queen Emily had a bit of peace whilst reading the Sunday papers, as the Young Royals, HRH Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold took extensive naps. Once they awakened, Princess Marigold had a look at the Gardens from Queen Emily's favourite vantage point. And Prince Brutus was quietly keeping HM the Queen Mum company as she perused her favourite websites, such as www.katscatoftheday.blogspot.com, www.missyblueeyes.blogspot.com, and links from these sites. Well, it kept Queen Mum amused for hours on end! You may find interesting links off of the addresses We've mentioned regarding all of the hard but rewarding work Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb, She Who Must Be Obeyed, Our Beloved Lady ML, and Our Angel of Mercy Karen C. have done to rescue and place in foreverafter homes distant cousins of ours who may have fallen on hard times. These are most heartwarming stories, so please do visit Our Favourite Sites today, when you find the opportunity!

Well, Queen Mum has her silver Flash Box out which can mean only one thing...We must attend to Our Duties and pose for additional Official Royal Photographs.

Thank you for visiting, and as always, have a Blessed Day!

Hello Our Most Loyal Subjects!!

We are back from holiday now. We understand we missed the most horrendous heat wave here in town. In the country, temperatures were most mild. In the evenings, one could comfortably sit fireside at tea!

Well, first thing the Young Royals did upon returning from Myres Castle was to invade the 'fridge, of course. They may be under the impression the 'fridge has gotten smaller, when the fact of the matter is HRH Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold have grown to the point where they need to inspect each shelf individually. Prince Brutus is inspecting the fresh, sleedless grapes Queen Mum had chosen on the way home, while Princess Marigold, who can eat circles around her brother, is more interested in the Pork Chops and Chicken on the lowest shelf. We are to have the Pork Chops today, done as Queen Mum remembers them from her childhood; something called "Shake & Bake" will coat the chops in a tasty pre-seasoned breading, and on the side, our veggies will be fresh steamed carrots and zuccini squash. Cinnamon applesauce will be for dessert! We are most looking forward to dinner!

Today, the weather is quite lovely. The temperature currently is 82 F, with very low humidity. Queen Mum is contimplating a short walk about town.

Well, we hope you will visit our sister site, www.royalphotos.blogspot.com for a few additional photos. It being the week-end, we thought the 2nd site may offer some amusement on Sunday for you.

We will also try to catch up with some most exciting news among Our Most Beloved Fairy Godmother Deb, She Who Must Be Obeyed; Our Most Honored Lady ML, Fairy Godmother Karen C. and Dr Smith, Veterinarian to the Royal Family. This coming week, we shall explore all the hard work and accomplishments they were busy with during Our holiday!

For now, We thank you for visiting, and have a Most Blessed Weekend!

Thursday, July 27, 2006

Hello, everyone.
I've decided to give these sites a "time-out" for the next week. By then, things should be back in place, and we will have fresh new photos and stories to share.
Hope to see you back then!

Rose
Emily, Marigold and Brutus

Hello to Our Loyal Subjects!

Hoping today is shaping up to be a fine day for you. It IS almost the weekend, and that can never be a bad thing!

Queen Mum went to replace the batteries for our silver flash box, and did not realize it needed a special kind of battery. So, since this cyberspace billboard proved SO uncooperative yesterday, We will be sorting through what we have on our computer, and choosing a photo from the lot you haven't seen yet!

This is a photo taken as the Queen Mum was attempting to make the bed in the morning. The Royal Family all believe they are working very hard to help Queen Mum, but they confuse "help" with "play" and it takes double the time to make the bed, because Queen Mum can't help but stop to play, too! When Princess Marigold attempts to smooth out a rather large lump, it usually turns out to be Prince Brutus!! Rather than annoy Queen Mum, this morning "ritual" as it has become, is one of the many high points in the day that The Royals provide to her!!
We are very pleased to be the reason for our Queen Mum's smiles and laughter, as it comes quite easily to us - we're simply being ourselves!

We thank you very kindly for dropping in to see us! And as always, please do have a Blessed Day!

Just a note...
Please find our second site at
www.royalphotos.blogspot.com

Thank you!

We are thoroughly exhausted!!!

We now have an alternate site that the Queen Mum created after Much Frustration. It will have additional photos to those appearing here.
you may access it (fingers crossed) at
www.royalphotos.blogspot.com

Absenthe is the drink of choice at the moment, my dear friends.

Good Night to you all!

Our Friend Deb Taylor is in hospital, admitted overnight. I thought of the following prayer, as I always do when I think of Deb!

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love;where there is injury, pardon;where there is doubt, faith;where there is despair, hope;where there is darkness, light;where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
St. Francis was born at Assisi in 1182. After a care free youth, he turned his back on inherited wealth and committed himself to God. Like many early saints, he lived a very simple life of poverty, and in so doing, gained a reputation of being the friend of animals. He established the rule of St Francis, which exists today as the Order of St. Francis, or the Franciscans.

The prayer has many of the biblical truths of what it means to be a Christian - to seek to give, and in so doing, receive blessings; that the Lord's Prayer asks God to forgive us as we forgive, and that the goal of eternal life can only result from us putting to death our old sinful lives.
Pointers for Prayer : Sometimes Christians are called to turn the world upside down. To bring the exact opposite of what we find in our world. St. Francis' prayer is a bold one, asking for strength to give of ourselves to meet the needs of others. He recognises that it "is in giving that we receive", that as we give of ourselves, we receive the peace and blessing of our risen Lord Jesus. We cannot earn eternal life, but that we are pardoned from the sins that block our claim on it. Think about the situations that you are involved in that require peace, consolation, hope, light and joy. Then, if you're bold enough, pray the prayer!
Prayer Request for Our Deb Taylor

Deb was admitted to Hospital late last night. I feel guided to share with you the following prayer.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

Please lift up a prayer for Deb and her family, husband Tim, daughters Tatum and Sloane.
Thank you!

Good Monday Morning, Our Most Loyal Subjects!

Saturday was THE most exciting day! As HM Queen Mum posted, We were to assist her in Air Traffic Controller duties to keep Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb, Our Honoured Lady ML and Lord Charley and Lady Sloane informed as to the progress of Miss K. in her travels to Houston, TX from Los Angeles, Ca.

Our Fairy Godmother Karen C, who did such a Blessed Deed to have found, nurtured and ultimately save Miss K.C. from a fate worse than the Tower overcame obstacles with grace and dignity, as befitting her gifts of kindness and perserverance to gain the release of little K.C. Of Course, Godmother Deb, known to us and now decreed that she be known to all as "She Who Must Be Obeyed", fought the Good Fight with the Evil Shelter "manager" (excuse Us while we stifle a cough {^^cough^^}. Society MAY benefit if said Manager resigned with working with our extended families of felines and woofies, and instead, "managed" the cleansing human kitty litter boxes.

Continental Flight 136 went off with a slight hitch, as departure was delayed from Los Angeles and therefore caused an arrival delay into Houston of approximately 25 minutes. Our little cousin, Bravehearted K.C. seemed to take it all in stride, and demonstrated NONE of the wicked things said about her by the Los Angeles shelter...Well, Sour Grapes! Mis K.C. is due for her first HONEST check-up with the Wise Dr Smith, Our kittenhood vetrinarian, who is a most Kind woman of medicine! We are anxiously awaiting to hear of her report!

It was asked that a comparison photo of Prince Brutus napping on HM Queen Mum's legs be published to make a comparason to the photo a few entries down, when he fell asleep the day of his journey. He has grown so quickly it brings tears to Queen Mum's eyes! He is 100% happy and healthy, and is expected to undergo...ahem..."THE procedure" the second Monday of August. Let's not breathe a word of this to him, shall we? He impetuously, but in all sincerely proposed Marriage to Sanjee, of the H(mb)C. She swept his fuzzy litle heart away at first glance of her picture. Sanjee most respecfully declined his paw in marriage, but We hope they will remain friends...perhaps a Cream Catnip Tea in the Rose Garden, on occasion.

Well! SO many events transpire in the course of a day, We must choose to save news for another day! We do hope you enjoy today's digital photos! The Queen Mum has become a pictire-taking fool! But, she can't help but be charming, at her age!

We pray for a good week for all our friends, and do have a Blessed Day!

Good Morning, and Happy Friday, Everyone!
HM Queen Mum began to play with her new Digital Camera yesterday, after carefully reading the instructions. She's like a schoolgirl again, looknig out for "Photo Ops", as she calls them. It's a wonder she put the silver box down long enough to write this morning!
The BEST news this weekend is the liberation of our cousin, K.C. from Captivity in Los Angeles, Ca. Tomorrow, bright and early, she will be boarding a Continental flight to Houston, Texas!
We hope she can sleep most of the way, as we did. At one moment, Godmother Deb and Our Dear Tatum and Sloan were kissing and hugging us goodbye. We were very sad to leave Taylor House, because all we knew our whole life was love there. The staff at Continental made sure we were comfortable the entire time, and gently handled only when necessary. Lady ML and Queen Mum kept monitoring our progress to Newark International Airport from Houston. It dawned on Queen Mum that the flight times and distance were very much like our own experience. K.C. will be in the loving arms of TWO mommys! We hope to be able to post a photo of K.C. here for all to meet her!
Well, Queen Mum wants to carry the silver box around some more, so we'll close for now.
Thanks to all for visiting!
Have a Blessed Day!

Hello everyone!

Queen Mum has "issues" she needs to resolve with "Blogger" before she wishes to share even more photos of QEIII and the Young Royals. This is a photograph of Prince Brutus on the day He arrived from Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb in Houston, TX to Our home in Highland Park, NJ. The Royal Flight on Continental Airlines was a smooth one, but tiring, all the same. This is a photo of HRH Prince Brutus, succumbing to a nap onQueen Mum's ankles. Prince Brutus has grown so since arriving in New Jersey 4 weels ago! At last nap. he stretches out the entire length of Queen Mum's leg! HRH Princess Marigold, believe it or not, is now the size that Prince Brutus was in the photo!

Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb outdid herself in the last parcel recieved on Tuesday evening! It contained feather toys, name tags, clove oil for the Queen Mum's nasty toothache, and suprises of all suprises!! A Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera!! Queen Mum sorted out the picture taking functions and has been having a great amount of fun, following us about for "Kodak Moments"! The next function is to do something to transfer the photos to the computer so we can share with you. That will probably be as early as next week!

There is more exciting news! Fairy Godmother Karen C. of California, rescued a distant cousin of ours, who has been named by Godmother Deb after Karen C. - K.C. A badly misunderstood kitten when she was brough into a dreaded Animal Shelter and condemned into "the Back Room". One can only shudder to think! Well, Fairy Godmother Karen C. will be rescuing K.C., and on Saturday, she will be embarking on travel to Houston to meet Our Godmother Deb and Our Lady ML, who assists Us with "Tech Support" selflessly. Lady ML will ultimately be K.C.'s Mum, but will be spending time at Taylor House for a bit, first.

There is So much more good stories to share!! We shall post at a later date to share them with you all!

Do have a Most Blessed Day!

Heat Stroke??!

It seems Blogger had a portion of Gatorade, because up popped the 2 posts I thought were lost!

Now, officially, Queen Mother Rose and The Royals have...
.........Multiple Posting Disorder!!!.......

Good Day, All!!

Thank you for visiting Us today, and on such a sweltering day at that! As we write, the temperature is 100 F, and with the humidity factored in, it feels like 110 F!! Way too hot to ask Cook to fire up the kitchen range, so we sent out for a pizza. We chose a Chicken Fajita Pizza from Poppa John's, as you can see. Princess Marigold likes her pizza spicy, so she is examining the spice packets that came along with the pizza. Unfortunately, they were fresh out of Organic Catnip, the Queen's favourite. We understand a fresh shipment will be delivered momentarily! We thank or Most Favoured Servant, ML, for the gift of the catnip!

Queen Mum is expecting a mystery parcel to be delivered by a nice young man wearing brown shorts at any moment, now! We So love suprises! It's like Christmas in July!!

Please do excuse us while we wait expectantly by the door for this nice young man...Queen Mum is seriously considering asking the nice young man wearing brown shorts if he would pose for a photo holding the parcel, but doesn't want to appear affected by the heat. However, the temptation is strong, and Queen Mum's resolve is weak, alas...

We will chat again very soon! Have a most Blessed Day!

Good Day, Loyal Subjects!

I'm afraid we are having technical difficulties on two fronts. Queen Mum Rose couldn't get a photo to download, and Blogger ate her recent post of information regarding said problem. We are Not Amused. We will attempt to correct the situation and with Providence's help, post later this afternoon.

Wishing all a most blessed day!
Good Day, Loyal Subjects!

For once, the technical difficulties I have with the Royals site is NOT the fault of Blogger (shhh, don't let them hear that!). Hence, no picture at this post. We are working on the problem and hope to have it sorted out by this afternoon.

HM Queen Emily seems to be experiencing a touch of Melancholia. I'm a bit concerned for her. I fear she's been overwhelmed by The Young Royals, so I gave them a quiet Time Out, and spent time with Emily alone.. She seemed to feel a bit better, as keeping up with all that youthful exuberance is daunting, to say the least. I'm thinking perhaps, having not been a mama herself, she still doesn't quite know what these tiny fuzzy creatures are supposed to be, exactly! When they are all grown, (which I personally hope is later rather than sooner!), I expect her to have an aHah!" moment and and the heirarchy of the House of Myres will be reestablished. After all, WHO IS QUEEN?!

Queen Mum is anticipating anothre parcel from the Most Gracious Godmother Deb, which will be delivered today by a man wearing brown shorts...how intriguing...the parcel is of interest, as well!

Have a Most Blessed Day, and we shall update everyone once the parcel is delivered.!

Good Day, Loyal Subjects!

HM The Queen Mum has submitted this photo of HRH Princess Marigold to "The Daily Kitten" for consideration. "The Daily Kitten" holds a stong sentmental place in Our hearts, as there is where we all came to know each other. "TDK" begat "Kat's Cat of the Day", where HM Queen Emily was featured recently, and where the initial concept for Rose and the Royals began. We all have a long (well, for our 14 weeks of life) history together.

It was suggested today, by Our Most Gracious Godmother Deb, that Our Biography be written. And so it shall be. HM Queen Mum will begin Her outline today, and We will share Our lives with you from Our earliest memories.

Godmother Deb accomplished a most remarkable feat of gracious charity today! She was made aware of a rescue shelter in Paterson, NJ in despirate need of a new air conditioner. The Kindhearted Lady Leslee Dimond, of "Here Kitty Kitty, Inc." circulated an electronic mail message alerting those among the Feline Inclined population to her plight. As Fate would have it, The Queen Mum noticed this message and forwarded it among Our FuZZ Family. As always, Godmother Deb responded immediately to the needs of Our cousins in New Jersey, and contacted The Home Depot in Passaic, NJ. Now, Godmother Deb is a true Lady of action! What can be done tomorrow may as well be done today, and after speaking with the kind Manager for 5 minutes or so, she had procured a DONATION of a Brand New Air Conditioner for Lady Leslee's cattery! Not only that! Our Lady ML, also of generous heart, donated to the cattery funds to help provide for Fresh Step Cat Litter, Lady Leslee's choice brand, and other necessities our cousins may have. If Our Subjects would like to visit "Here Kitty Kitty, Inc." site, it can be viewed by the following link: (http://www.herekittykitty.petfinder.org/) .

Well, we've had a most eventful morning, and it has just chimed 12:00 Noon!

We thank you as always for visiting us, and hope you have a Most Blessed Day!

Good Morning, Loyal Subjects!

I was just planning to do some work on the site, but something really, REALLY
funny happened this morning that had me
laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes!
I was making the bed around 3 romping Royals, when Brutus noticed the dressing mirror I have attached to the wall, across from the bed. It's about 4 feet away from the edge of the bed, and I guess Brutus noticed the OTHER cat - his reflection, in the mirror! Now, as he's been growing SO quickly, his jumping skills would be the envy of any Olympic athlete. (Oh, that gave me a thought: I should DISCUSS the next CatOlympics with him!) Quick as a shot, he made a flying leap towards the mirror, a perfect Long Jump...RIGHT INTO THE WALL!!! It was like a Road Runner cartoon, when Wyle E. Cayote hits a canyon wall and slowly slides down! He looked so embarrassed! It was precious! A tale (tail?) I heard once, is that one should never laugh at a cat, because they CAN get embarrassed and maybe need therapy, I don't know... I know only that I thank God every moment of the day for those two young ones, and for my precious, Emily! I think about the fact that if it were not for Our most compassionate Deb Taylor, those two ginger FuZZes would not be bringing me such joy! Rescuers DO have a special place in Heaven waiting for them!

THE RESCUE RAINBOW BRIDGEAuthor Unknown

Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and ray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals that had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was going on and started to gather at the pathway leading to The Bridge to watch. It wasn't long before an elderly cat came into view, head hung low and tail dragging. The other animals, the ones who had been there for a while, knew what his story was right away, for they had seen this happen far too often. He approached slowly, obviously in great emotional pain, but with no sign of injury or illness. Unlike all of the other animals waiting at The Bridge, this animal had not been restored to youth and made healthy and vigorous again. As he walked toward The Bridge, he watched all of the other animals watching him.
He knew he was out of place here and the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be. But, alas, as he approached The Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of an Angel who apologized, but told him that he would not be able to pass. Only those who were with their people could pass over Rainbow Bridge.

With no place else to turn to, the elderly cat turned towards the fields before The Bridge and saw a group of other cats like him, also elderly and infirm. They weren't playing, but rather simply lying on the green grass, forlornly staring out at the pathway leading to The Bridge. And so, he took his place among them, watching the pathway and waiting.
One of the newest arrivals at The Bridge didn't understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the animals that had been there for awhile to explain it to him. You see, that poor animal was a rescue. He was turned in to res! cue just as you see him now, an older cat with his fur graying and his eyes clouding. He never made it out of rescue and passed on with only the love of his rescuer to comfort him as he left his earthly existence. Because he had no family to give his love to, he has no one to escort him across The Bridge. The first cat thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?"

As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the gloom lifted. Approaching The Bridge could be seen a single person and among the older animals, a whole group was suddenly bathed in a golden lig! ht and they were all young and healthy again, just as they were in the prime of life."Watch, and see" said the second feline. A second group of animals from those waiting came to the pathway and bowed low as the person neared. At each bowed head, the person offered a pat on the head or! a scratch behind the ears. The newly restored animals fell into line and followed him towards The Bridge.
They all crossed The Bridge together. "What happened?" "That was a rescuer." The animals you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of his work. They will cross when their new families arrive. Those you saw restored were those who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are allowed to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort all those poor animals that they couldn't place on earth, across The Rainbow Bridge."I think I like rescuers", said the first animal.

Have a Blessed Day, Everyone and their special FuZZes!

Good Morning!

The Royal Family woke at sunrise. The Queen Mum could have used a sleep-in, since she had but 2 hours sleep: all sorts of thoughts racing through Her head. She did recall part of a dream that fussed Her some, needing a nice hot cuppa at about 4:30 AM, but she declines to comment on it, preferring to keep it Her "Dirty Little Secret", she confided with a wink!

Godmother Deb sent The Young Royals a parcel, which arrived last evening. In it, were the Young Royals early kittenhood bed, which they recalled straight-away. Three brand new collars, one for each of the Young Royals, in the appropriate shade of Royal Blue, with very pretty whimsical designs, and one for HM Queen Emily, in a sporty shade of yellow, which She most enjoys. One can only wear those old hand-me-down diamonds and pearls from Grandmama for so long...the Royal Family were most impressed with the vast array of playthings, of all descriptions that Deb so carfully packaged. HM the Queen enjoyed the Young Royals antics for the better part of an hour.

It has been announced that this site documenting the Royal Family will be from today forward known as "Rose and the Royals". Rose is Our most gracious Lady-in-Waiting, and does a few things, here and there for us. Today, Rose plans to change the template to reflect the chosen Royal Title.

Well, that will be all for now. We have not had our breakfast yet, and yearn for a nice cup of tea.

Have a most Blessed Day!

Well, as Prince Brutus and Princess Marigold
bids all a good night, we shall, tomorrow, see what we shall see...

It's past the Queen Mum's bedtime, too...

g'night!!
HM Queen Emily welcomes you to the first photo enhanced post to our Royal Blog, Queen Mother Rose and the Royals!
